Mama’s little man – A sweet studio motherhood session

Mama originally contacted me because she wanted to book a Valentine Mini session. Every year I host Valentine minis in my home-based Leesburg studio. These sessions are usually very themed, with lots of Valentine themed props and are tons of fun. Since her son’s birthday falls on Valentine’s day, she thought this would be a super fun way to celebrate. However, after many reschedules due to illness and work commitments, she opted for a more simple photoshoot. She opted for a classic Motherhood photo session.

She searched the internet in what she was looking for and came back with something very clean and simple. I loved it! For their motherhood photo session, they wore white simple button up shirts, jeans, black converse shoes and a grey backdrop. Yes please!

As a single mama, she really wanted pictures of her and her son. She wanted to capture this time as babies grow FAST! He showed up in a man bun, with his hair going everywhere once released. Mama kept trying to tame it, but I actually loved it! This time when they are young is so short and fleeting. The time before the first haircut, where they still have their fine hair and tender curls. It’s a moment to remember!

We kept the shoot simple, with lots of hugs, playing and a few simple props and stools. The end result was a gallery wall with minimal distraction to be proud of. Couldn’t you imagine this simple collage in your hallway?
