A clean and neutral mini studio newborn session

I was so excited to hear from Kate earlier this year. She was pregnant with her third child and it had been some time since I had seen this amazing family. There is a larger gap between her second and third. She wanted some studio newborn shots of her baby girl, but she wanted something a little different. Kate also wanted to capture some treasured moments at home.

Kate is a mama to her two biological children, but her and her husband are also foster parents. She’s basically the kindest person on this planet. I can remember after our session, walking upstairs to chat with my husband and saying “I wish I could be more like Kate”. She is just so calm and collected. She has a ton on her shoulders but manages it all with grace. Have you ever known someone like that? I definitely need to channel some inner “Kate” when dealing with my high school girls.

She decided to book a studio mini session because she wanted quite a few posed shots. She wanted to stay in the neutral color palette, for the most part. She decided to include a purple floral headband that her first daughter wore in her newborn session, as well as her baby rattle that she had as a baby. Later this month, I’m heading to her home in Arlington to capture the rest of her amazing family. All parents and children included! I’m excited to spend more time with such a great crew and to see how much everyone has grown! Time sure does fly by fast!
